About The Position

Fortis College in Richmond, Virginia, is seeking an experienced and motivated HVAC/R professional to teach in its HVAC program. This part-time faculty position teaches HVAC/R courses, with a typical load of two courses per term and one or two course preparations. The instructor also provides academic advising and participates in department training, meetings, and graduation. The position reports directly to the Dean of Education.

Requirements

• Completion of an HVAC/R program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or Diploma.
• EPA Universal certification.
• Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) Journeyman or Master HVAC license.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• At least three years of experience as an HVAC/R Technician.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized, motivated, and results-driven.

Nice To Haves

• An associate degree.
• HVAC Excellence certification.
• NATE certification.
• Prior higher education or postsecondary teaching experience.

Responsibilities
