About The Position

Abacus Houston is seeking HVAC Installers to join a team focused on customer service. Installers educate customers about available product options, remove and replace HVAC equipment, and install add-on accessories as needed. They provide quality work while following applicable local and national codes and support a team of technicians. The role involves traveling to job sites in the service area and working with dispatch to maintain schedules and communicate delays to customers. Installers also interact with homeowners about their HVAC systems and may identify opportunities for accessory sales or system replacement.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in HVAC service, installation, maintenance, diagnosis, troubleshooting, and correction of system issues.
Ability to diagnose and replace HVAC-related components, including air conditioners and heat pumps; furnaces and air handlers; ductwork and zone systems; thermostats; air filters and filtration systems; and low- and high-voltage wiring.
Type II EPA Certification.
Strong customer service skills and a desire to exceed customer expectations.
Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Install and replace HVAC equipment, including ductwork, attic or vertical split systems (gas or heat pump), and rooftop package units (gas or heat pump).
Design duct systems for comfort and efficiency.
Maintain the company vehicle in good working order.
Keep appropriate stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle.
Travel to job sites and coordinate with dispatch to maintain schedules and communicate delays to customers.
Discuss homeowners’ HVAC concerns and interests, including potential accessories or system replacement options.
Use the company pricing program to prepare customer invoices and other paperwork at job sites, and process credit card payments electronically.
Participate in company-provided training on customer service and industry technologies.
Coach and mentor apprentices and entry-level installers.
