HVAC Install
About The Position
Abacus Houston is seeking HVAC Installers to join a team focused on customer service. Installers educate customers about available product options, remove and replace HVAC equipment, and install accessories as needed while delivering quality work in compliance with applicable local and national codes. The role supports a team of technicians. Installers travel to job sites in the service area, coordinate with dispatch, maintain their company vehicle and its stock of parts, tools, and safety equipment, and complete customer invoices and paperwork. They also discuss homeowners’ concerns and interests, design duct systems for comfort and efficiency, participate in training, and coach apprentices and entry-level installers.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in HVAC service, installation, maintenance, diagnosis, troubleshooting, and correction of diverse system issues.
- Ability to diagnose and replace HVAC-related components, including air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, air handlers, ductwork, zone systems, thermostats, air filters and filtration systems, and low- and high-voltage wiring.
- Type II EPA Certification.
- Excellent customer service skills and a strong desire to exceed customer expectations.
- Attention to detail.

- Service Titan experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Install and replace HVAC equipment, including ductwork, attic and/or vertical split systems (gas or heat pump), and rooftop package units (gas or heat pump).
- Maintain the company vehicle in good working order.
- Maintain appropriate stock of parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle.
- Travel to job sites in the service area and coordinate with dispatch to maintain schedules and communicate delays to customers.
- Design duct systems for optimal comfort and efficiency.
- Talk with homeowners to identify concerns or interests about their AC systems and potential accessory sales or system replacement needs.
- Understand the company pricing program, generate customer invoices and other paperwork at job sites, and process credit card payments electronically.
- Participate in company-provided training on customer service and industry technologies.
- Coach and mentor apprentices and entry-level installers.
