About The Position
Jetson is seeking experienced HVAC Installers to install heat pump systems and support its mission to help homes transition from fossil fuels to sustainable energy. Installers remove existing gas furnaces and air-conditioning equipment, prepare spaces, and complete installations from start to finish while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and customer service. The role contributes to improving installation processes and represents Jetson directly to homeowners.
Requirements
- Hands-on residential HVAC installation experience, including work in attics, crawlspaces, and tight or physically demanding environments.
- HVACR licence.
- Ability to work independently and alongside a crew.
- EPA Section 608 Certification, or actively working toward it.
- Ability to read blueprints and wiring schematics.
- Working knowledge of local building codes and compliance.
- Strong refrigerant handling skills, including recovery, evacuation, and charging.
- High standards for quality and willingness to avoid cutting corners.
- Clear, professional communication with customers and teammates.
- Problem-solving ability when installations do not go as planned.
- Physical stamina to handle heavy equipment and work in varied conditions.
- Follow OSHA Electrical Standard.
- Follow OSHA Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) standard.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with heat pumps or mini-splits.
Responsibilities
- Complete full heat pump system installations, including removing existing gas furnaces and air-conditioning equipment and leaving the work area clean and ready.
- Perform refrigerant recovery, system evacuation, and proper charging.
- Prepare spaces after equipment removal for the new installation.
- Read blueprints and wiring diagrams to perform installations and troubleshoot.
- Stay current with local building codes and ensure every job is compliant.
- Answer customer questions, address concerns, and provide a positive homeowner experience.
- Identify quality issues and speak up when work needs correction.
- Keep vehicles and the warehouse organized and well-stocked.
- Collaborate with other installers and the engineering team to identify improvements and raise work standards.
- Follow OSHA Electrical Standard and OSHA Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) standard.
