About The Position

Performs skilled diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and installation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems on campus. Includes, but is not limited to, closed-loop systems, chillers, commercial refrigeration equipment, cooling towers, AHUs, FCUs, VAVs, and all related equipment. Position is designated as essential personnel.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment.
• Experience as an HVAC Technician.
• Skill in the operation of tools and equipment associated with HVAC maintenance.
• Experience with installation, repair, and modification of heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and air conditioning, and their controls.
• Ability to perform skilled diagnosis on campus systems, including closed-loop systems, chillers, commercial refrigeration equipment, cooling towers, AHUs, FCUs, VAVs, and related equipment.
• Valid driver's license.
• E.P.A. certification for handling CFC refrigerants.
• DPOR licensure required.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to interpret and follow mechanical drawings.
• Significant experience with a diverse university campus setting.
• Working knowledge of building HVAC controls.

Responsibilities

• Performs skilled diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and installation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems on campus.
• Works with closed-loop systems, chillers, commercial refrigeration equipment, cooling towers, AHUs, FCUs, VAVs, and all related equipment.
• Serves on an on-call rotation.
• Available for emergency call-in and overtime work.
