About The Position

South West Plumbing is hiring an experienced HVAC Install Lead to install residential HVAC comfort systems, perform system startups and basic diagnostics, and lead installation work by example. The role includes mentoring and developing trainees, taking ownership of installation quality, and educating homeowners so they feel confident and comfortable with their new systems. The schedule is Saturday through Wednesday, starting at 7:30 AM, with a set weekly schedule and two consecutive days off. There are no on-call shifts. Compensation is $35–$45 per hour, depending on experience, plus a monthly bonus of up to $4,000 and a sign-on bonus.

Requirements

Three or more years of HVAC equipment installation experience preferred.
Proficiency in refrigeration line brazing and sheet metal transition building.
Ability to install HVAC comfort systems, including duct design, installation layout, and full fabrication.
Ability to perform full system startups, including zoning installations.
Strong communication skills and ability to discuss installations with customers.
Leadership skills to support trainee growth and development.
Ability to pass a background check.
Clean driving record.
Ability to safely help lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, work in tight corners, and work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Install all HVAC comfort systems offered by the company, including duct design, installation layout, and full fabrication.
Perform full system startups and basic diagnostics on HVAC systems.
Mentor and develop trainees, supporting their growth through leadership and example.
Take ownership of installation mistakes and share credit for successful work.
Educate homeowners about installation projects and help ensure they feel confident in the work.
Fabricate multi-kick transitions, offset fittings, and base cans.
