HVAC Install Helper- Nashville
About The Position
Coolray is seeking HVAC Install Helpers to assist with the installation of heating and cooling systems. Helpers travel with a Lead to job sites in the service area, help install or replace HVAC equipment, and support the completion of jobs while maintaining customer communication and schedule coordination. The role also includes maintaining the company vehicle and its stock of parts, tools, and safety equipment; handling job-site paperwork and customer payments; participating in training; and coaching apprentices and entry-level installers. The position involves working in tight spaces and climbing ladders, with work locations that may include attics, garages, crawl spaces, and roofs. The listed market compensation is $22–$28 per hour. Requirements
- Basic hand tools, including wrenches, screwdrivers/nut drivers, sheet metal/duct tools, and a hammer.
- Ability to work independently and in a timely manner while ensuring the job is done correctly the first time.
- Ability to crawl in tight spaces and climb ladders, and to work in attics, garages, crawl spaces, and on roofs.
Responsibilities
- Assist with installation or replacement of HVAC equipment, including ductwork, attic and/or vertical split systems (gas or heat pump), and rooftop package units (gas or heat pump).
- Maintain the company vehicle in good working order.
- Maintain proper stock of parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle.
- Travel with the Lead to job sites in the service area and coordinate with dispatch to maintain the schedule and communicate delays to customers.
- Design duct systems for optimal comfort and efficiency.
- Talk with homeowners to identify concerns or interests about their AC systems that could lead to accessory sales or system replacement.
- Understand the company pricing program, generate customer invoices and other paperwork at job sites, and process credit card payments electronically.
- Participate in company-provided training on customer service and current industry technologies.
- Coach and mentor apprentices and entry-level installers.
