About The Position

Coolray is seeking HVAC Install Helpers to assist with installing and replacing heating and cooling systems. The role involves traveling with a Lead to job sites in the service area, helping complete installations, maintaining the company vehicle and its inventory, and communicating with dispatch and homeowners. Helpers may also design duct systems, prepare invoices and process electronic credit-card payments, participate in company training, and coach apprentices and entry-level installers. Requirements

• Basic hand tools, including wrenches, screwdrivers/nut drivers, sheet metal/duct tools, and a hammer.
• Ability to work independently and in a timely manner, ensuring work is done correctly the first time.
• Ability to crawl in tight places and climb ladders, and to work in attics, garages, crawl spaces, and on roofs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installing and replacing HVAC equipment, including ductwork, attic and/or vertical split systems (gas or heat pump), and rooftop package units (gas or heat pump).
• Maintain the company vehicle in good working order.
• Maintain appropriate stock of parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle.
• Travel with the Lead to job sites in the service area.
• Coordinate with dispatch to maintain the schedule and ensure delays are properly communicated to customers.
• Design duct systems for optimal comfort and efficiency.
• Speak with homeowners to identify concerns or interests regarding their air-conditioning system that could lead to accessory sales or system replacement.
• Understand the company pricing program, generate appropriate customer invoices and other paperwork at the job site, and process credit-card payments electronically.
• Participate in company-provided training on customer service and the latest industry technologies.
• Coach and mentor apprentices and entry-level installers.
