About The Position

The HVAC General Manager leads the strategic growth and operational performance of two established, smaller-sized operating companies. The role focuses on expanding market presence, increasing revenue, improving profitability, optimizing processes, and enhancing customer satisfaction. The General Manager provides leadership and vision to a team of technicians and identifies business opportunities that support sustainable growth and long-term success. The position oversees day-to-day company production, including field operations, safety, project management, on-site progress, and employee retention. The General Manager works with Ownership and the executive leadership team, serves as a liaison among sales, service, installation, and operations, and provides accurate reports on company operating conditions. The ideal candidate has extensive residential Plumbing and HVAC experience and may have advanced through the industry into management.

Requirements

At least 10 years of verifiable, full-time management experience in residential HVAC.
Working knowledge of residential HVAC methods, techniques, systems, and codes.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to build consensus and gain buy-in.
Passion for building high-performing teams and a successful history of doing so.
Willingness to take on new tasks with an attitude that no task is too small or large and that work can be improved.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
Must embrace ongoing challenges to grow and improve operationally and professionally.

Nice To Haves

Professional degree, preferably in Construction Management, or equivalent experience; desired but not required.
Extensive residential Plumbing and HVAC experience, ideally including progression through industry roles into management.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day company production, including coordination with executive leadership and finance, field operations, safety, project management, on-site progress, and employee retention.
Oversee successful execution of all Plumbing and HVAC service.
Provide oversight and accountability to ensure managers stay on track and within budget.
Supervise and mentor the operations team in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, and discipline as needed.
Champion development, implementation, and continuous improvement of organizational management protocols, practices, and tools.
Collaborate with Ownership on short- and long-term company growth plans.
Drive safety, quality, and profitability to meet or exceed company objectives.
Provide Ownership with timely, accurate, and complete reports on the operating condition of the company.
Act as a strategic partner on the leadership team and liaison among sales, service, installation, and operations departments.
Work autonomously while meeting and exceeding Ownership expectations.
Foster a success-oriented, accountable company environment.
