About The Position

The General Manager will drive strategic growth and operational excellence across two established, smaller-sized operating companies. The role focuses on expanding market presence, increasing revenue, enhancing profitability, optimizing processes, fostering innovation, and improving customer satisfaction. The General Manager will lead a team of high-performing technicians and use team leadership and market analysis to identify and pursue business opportunities that support sustainable growth and long-term success. The ideal candidate has extensive residential plumbing and HVAC experience, preferably having advanced through the ranks into management. This background is valued for its combination of business and management expertise and familiarity with residential plumbing and HVAC industry practices, policies, and procedures. The position works with executive leadership and Ownership, oversees field operations and service execution, and supports the sales, service, installation, and operations departments.

Requirements

At least 10 years of verifiable, full-time management experience in residential HVAC.
Working knowledge of residential HVAC methods, techniques, systems, and codes.
A valid driver's license.
Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to build consensus and gain buy-in.
A passion for building high-performing teams and a prior successful history of doing so.
Willingness to take on new tasks with an attitude that tasks of any size can be completed or improved.
Willingness to be continually challenged to grow and improve operationally and professionally.

Nice To Haves

Professional degree, preferably in Construction Management or equivalent; desired but not required.
Extensive residential plumbing and HVAC experience, ideally with career progression into management.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day company production, including coordination with executive leadership and finance, field operations, safety, project management, on-site progress, and employee retention.
Oversee successful execution of all plumbing and HVAC service.
Provide oversight and accountability to ensure managers are on track and operating within budget.
Supervise and mentor the operations team in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, and disciplining as needed.
Champion the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of organizational management protocols, practices, and tools.
Collaborate with Ownership on long- and short-term company growth plans.
Drive safety, quality, and profitability to meet or exceed company objectives.
Provide Ownership with timely, accurate, and complete reports on the company's operating condition.
Serve as a strategic partner on the leadership team and liaison among sales, service, installation, and operations departments.
Work autonomously while meeting and exceeding Ownership's expectations.
Foster a success-oriented, accountable company environment.
