Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the HVAC & Commercial Equipment Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of commercial food service equipment, HVAC systems, refrigeration equipment, and related components. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient operation of food service and facility equipment across our Glacier Park teams. Responsibilities include: This is more than a technician role. During your first three years in this position, you will develop expertise with HVAC, refrigeration, and commercial food service equipment through structured technical training, industry-recognized certification, and hands-on experience alongside experienced professionals in one of North America's most iconic destinations.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other digital work order platforms.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safe work practices and the ability to perform the physical requirements of the role.
  • Valid US driver's license with a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing commercial HVAC, refrigeration, food service, or related mechanical equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues efficiently.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install commercial HVAC, refrigeration, and food service equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability, efficiency, and safe operation.
  • Support facility maintenance through minor plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry repairs.
  • Coordinate parts and materials procurement and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Complete all work in compliance with safety standards and established maintenance programs.
  • Utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to document work orders, repairs, preventative maintenance and parts usage.
  • Participate in the work order dispatch process and respond to service requests in accordance with department procedures.
  • Maintain clear, professional communication with supervisors, team members, and other departments.
  • Foster positive working relationships with guests, colleagues, contractors, and leadership while delivering responsive, customer-focused service.
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner, supporting the efficient operation of the facility.
  • Identify operational improvement opportunities and communicate recommendations, concerns, and equipment issues to management.
  • Participate in meetings, safety briefings, and training programs while maintaining a professional appearance and adhering to organizational protocols, and site procedures.
  • Participate in a department-funded technical training program during your first three years of employment. This training program contains online and in person structured training.
  • Master equipment technician certification will conclude at the end of the third year in the program and will be presented through the Commercial Food Equipment Service Association (CFESA).
  • Annual pay increases will be directly tied to timely completions of the scheduled training.
