About The Position

The Commercial HVAC Service Technician performs diagnostics, service, repair, and preventive maintenance on commercial heating, cooling, and mechanical systems. This position requires strong troubleshooting ability, technical knowledge, professionalism, and the ability to work independently while providing dependable service to our commercial clients. Simmons is looking for skilled commercial HVAC technicians to join our team. We are seeking technicians who take pride in their work, know how to troubleshoot complex HVAC equipment, and want to build a long-term career with an established company. Our commercial team works on a wide range of equipment and systems, including chillers, boilers, rooftop units, package systems, split systems, pumps, hydronic systems, controls, and other commercial HVAC equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior successful experience as a Commercial HVAC Service Technician
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience servicing commercial HVAC equipment
  • EPA certification required
  • Ability to read electrical diagrams and technical documentation
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical HVAC systems
  • Ability to work independently and make sound diagnostic decisions in the field
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to pass required background check and drug screening
  • Must be safety-conscious, dependable, and professional

Nice To Haves

  • Chiller and/or boiler experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with commercial HVAC, chillers, boilers, controls, or complex mechanical systems

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC and mechanical systems
  • Service equipment including chillers, boilers, rooftop units, package units, split systems, pumps, hydronic systems, controls, and related commercial HVAC equipment
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, refrigerant, airflow, and control-related problems
  • Perform preventive maintenance and identify potential equipment problems before they lead to breakdowns
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, equipment specifications, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Accurately determine equipment condition and recommend appropriate repairs or corrective actions
  • Verify proper system operation after repairs and maintenance are completed
  • Clearly communicate equipment condition, repair needs, and recommendations with customers and company personnel
  • Complete service documentation accurately and professionally
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Follow company and industry safety procedures at all times
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and service vehicle in professional condition
  • Represent Simmons professionally at every customer location
  • Participate in on-call or after-hours service rotation as required
