About The Position

This role requires knowledge of mechanical systems, including all applicable building codes, HVAC (inclusive of air handling units, unit heaters/coolers, etc.) industry standards, and other plumbing systems. The HVAC Bid Specialist will collaborate with Product Managers, Territory Account Managers and other teams to accomplish equipment sizing and selection of mechanical equipment. This position creates and distributes weekly project jobs bidding, creates and maintains projects in Sales Force, and performs duties with multiple projects within established schedules. The role involves working on a wide variety of project types, scales and complexity, assisting in the development of contract specifications, and researching the application of new procedures and/or products. The specialist will determine optimal pricing levels, analyze competitor pricing for bids, and monitor all correspondence between team, Territory Account Managers, contractors, owners, etc. This role assumes responsibility for the overall economic well-being of assigned projects and communicates with clients in an engaging manner, maintaining client satisfaction and project efficiency. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in reading and evaluating HVAC and Plumbing schedules
  • Heightened sense of urgency in completing projects/bids before due date.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new pricing methodologies.
  • Achieve business objectives and company goals as instructed.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years’ experience in Project Management, highly desirable
  • Bluebeam, Sales Force, Revit and AutoCAD skills a plus
  • Experience working on publicly-funded and municipal projects is a plus.
  • Knowledge/experience in refrigeration system design is a plus.
