About The Position

Quantum North America is seeking an experienced, meticulous estimator to prepare accurate job-cost proposals and scopes of work for commercial and industrial HVAC and plumbing service repairs and projects. The estimator works with service technicians, account managers, dispatch, billing, subcontractors, and the Director of Service to evaluate project requirements, costs, timelines, and budgets, and to support proposals through approval, completion, and billing.

Requirements

• At least 3–5 years of HVAC industry experience with a proven history.
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, installation techniques, and industry standards.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple estimates at once.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with technicians, clients, team members, and account managers.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to interpret repair and project specifications and needs.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to resolve issues and mitigate project risks.
• Deadline- and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assist service team members with estimating, proposal generation, and closing sales of new work.
• Review repair and project documentation to understand requirements.
• Estimate repair and project costs, materials, and labor based on information from technicians and account managers.
• Prepare and submit bid proposals and maintain a proposal log.
• Collaborate with service technicians and account managers to assess repair and project needs, timelines, and budget constraints.
• Evaluate subcontractor bids and negotiate pricing to ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Maintain supplier and subcontractor contact information and cost history for future estimates.
• Keep up to date with industry trends, technologies, and materials to support accurate and competitive estimates.
• Work with account managers and the Director of Service to review completed repairs and projects for accuracy and cost-effectiveness.
• Coordinate with dispatch and billing to ensure approved work is set up, completed, and billed.
