About The Position

The HVAC Account Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, building and maintaining long-term relationships with general contractors, building owners, and facility managers. This role is responsible for driving revenue through the sale of HVAC services, including preventative maintenance, repairs, equipment replacements, and system upgrades. The Account Manager will also identify and develop new business opportunities within existing accounts and prospect for new customers. While not directly managing projects day-to-day, the role involves partnering with Project Managers and field teams to support project execution, ensuring alignment on scope, timelines, and customer expectations. Key responsibilities include preparing and presenting quotes and proposals, negotiating terms, and ensuring profitability targets are met. The position requires strong cross-functional coordination with sales, estimating, operations, and finance teams, as well as effective issue resolution and problem-solving to address customer concerns. Performance tracking, forecasting, and participation in strategic planning are also essential.

Requirements

  • 3–7+ years of experience in HVAC, mechanical contracting, construction sales, or account management
  • Proven ability to drive revenue growth and manage customer relationships
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, construction processes, and service operations
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with general contractors, building owners, facility managers, and operators.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with service delivery, pricing, and project outcomes.
  • Act as the “go-to” representative for all customer needs and escalations.
  • Drive revenue through the sale of HVAC services, including preventative maintenance/service agreements, repairs, equipment replacements, and retrofit/system upgrade projects.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Prospect and secure new customers to expand market share.
  • Maintain and manage an active sales pipeline.
  • Partner with Project Managers, field teams, and operations to support project execution.
  • Ensure alignment on scope of work, project timelines, and customer expectations.
  • Monitor project progress at a high level and communicate updates to customers.
  • Support successful project delivery without direct day-to-day project management responsibility.
  • Prepare, review, and present quotes, proposals, service agreements, contracts, and scopes of work.
  • Collaborate with estimating and operations on pricing strategy.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with customers as needed.
  • Ensure projects and accounts meet profitability targets.
  • Work closely with sales and estimating teams, project managers and field operations, and finance and billing teams.
  • Ensure internal alignment on customer requirements, deliverables, and expectations.
  • Facilitate smooth handoffs from sales to operations.
  • Address customer concerns including service issues, project delays, and scope or contract discrepancies.
  • Identify risks early and coordinate solutions quickly.
  • Maintain strong customer trust through proactive communication.
  • Monitor account performance, including revenue, profitability, and project costs vs. budgets.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reporting.
  • Participate in account reviews and strategic planning initiatives.
