About The Position

The HV Process Technician is responsible for hands-on assembly, debugging, verification and maintaining all manufacturing process equipment and systems. This is a hands-on individual contributor role responsible for the successful assembly and building of products to meet customer requirements and expectations. The role involves performing basic, routine manufacturing process operations such as monitoring of dispensing of raw materials, line clearances, and basic analytics. A key aspect of the job is to maintain machine uptime, perform fault clearing, and resolve line stoppages on automated equipment. The technician will troubleshoot and identify potential solutions for mechanical errors, safety issues, or general operating inefficiencies within the production processes, utilizing human machine interfaces (HMIs) to identify alarms and correct line stoppages. They will report issues to the Manufacturing supervisor to prevent future production problems and carry out equipment inspections, generating work orders in the CMMS system as needed. The role also includes performing preventive maintenance activities to support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), identifying and supporting continuous improvement projects, and partnering with cross-functional teams to drive improvement opportunities. The technician will assist Maintenance and Controls Engineers with troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment, and aid in the review of documentation for assigned areas. Participation in Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and work instruction reviews may be required. Data entry into Plex and multiple platforms, assisting with specification development for machinery and equipment, and supporting other Manufacturing and Engineering areas are also part of the responsibilities. The role includes acting as a training resource on manufacturing tasks and equipment use, overseeing equipment/process validation protocols independently, and supporting weekend and off-shift work as required. Maintaining a safe and clean working environment, adhering to ergonomic guidelines, safety procedures, company policies, and federal/state regulations are essential. Other duties as requested, directed, or assigned, along with predictable and reliable attendance, are also expected.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing experience required.
  • Mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic/hydraulic troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics and prints.
  • Ability to use test & measurement equipment such as multimeters, calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience with PLCs, VFDs and Electrical Control systems.
  • Working knowledge of quality systems such as ISO 9001.
  • Able to work in a flexible team environment.
  • Must be available to work various shift schedules; may need to work overtime.
  • Ability to travel domestically as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree or college studies in a related field (mechanical or electrical engineering, etc.) or prior experience in high voltage/electrical component handling/battery manufacturing is preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of ABS manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Word/Excel/SharePoint is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and support continuous improvement projects (e.g., cost reduction, efficiency improvements, etc.).
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to help drive improvement opportunities.
  • Assist and support Maintenance with troubleshooting and repairing of all manufacturing equipment.
  • Assist Controls Engineers with the troubleshooting and repairing of all manufacturing equipment.
  • Assist in the review of documentation for assigned areas (i.e. procedures, job plans, logs, area audits and other records as needed).
  • Participate when required in Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and work instruction reviews.
  • Data entry into Plex and multiple platforms.
  • Assist with specification development for machinery and equipment.
  • Support other Manufacturing and Engineering areas as required.
  • Assist as training resource on manufacturing tasks and equipment use.
  • Oversight of equipment/process validation protocols independently.
  • Support weekend and off-shift work as required.
