This position focuses on ensuring that personal care homes and assisted living residences follow state laws and protect the well-being of residents. The role involves fieldwork, collaboration, and careful review of important information.

Requirements

  • Two years of professional experience gathering and analyzing information in a social service or law enforcement program, and a bachelor’s degree; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Candidate must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Central Region which includes Somerset, Cambria, Blair, Bedford, Huntingdon, Fulton, Franklin, Mifflin, Juniata, Perry, Cumberland, Adams, Dauphin, York, Lebanon, and Lancaster counties.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial, annual, interim, and provisional follow-up inspections to check compliance with state laws and regulations
  • Gather facts when complaints are received to determine whether facilities meet required standards
  • Speak with residents, staff, families, and professionals to collect information about facility practices
  • Examine medical, legal, and program documents to assess compliance with regulations
  • Offer guidance to facility staff on how to meet licensing requirements
  • Help coordinate resident moves from noncompliant homes to safe living arrangements
