About The Position

As a Human Services Licensing Representative for the Department of Human Services (DHS), you will play a key role in helping to uphold essential regulations that protect personal care home residents. This profession allows you to conduct inspections, review complaints, and provide guidance to home operators. You will gather important information, collaborate with professionals, and support compliance efforts. This role focuses on inspecting personal care homes, reviewing compliance with state regulations, and supporting safe living conditions for residents. Your work will focus on conducting investigations, reviewing documentation, coordinating relocations when necessary, and preparing detailed reports.

Requirements

• Two years of professional experience gathering and analyzing information in a social service or law enforcement program, and a bachelor’s degree; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• You must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Northwest Region which includes Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Clarion, Clearfield, Crawford, Elk, Erie, Forest, Indiana, Jefferson, Lawrence, McKean, Mercer, Venango, Warren, and Westmoreland Counties.
• You must meet the PA residency requirement.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial, annual, interim, and complaint inspections to determine regulatory compliance
• Investigate complaints, illegal operations, and resident needs related to daily living assistance
• Assist with moving residents from noncompliant homes, including managing belongings, medications, and records
• Review plans of correction, track timelines, and coordinate with agencies to verify compliance
• Gather information by interviewing residents, staff, families, law enforcement, and medical professionals
• Use computer systems to prepare reports, licensing documents, violation notices, and enforcement recommendations
