Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.
  • Three years of human services related experience (i.e., work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged, employment, abuse and neglect, substance abuse, aging, disabilities, prevention, health, cultural competencies, inadequate housing); OR
  • An Associate's degree in a Behavioral Science, Social Science or a closely related field and two years of human services related experience (i.e., work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged, employment, abuse and neglect, substance abuse, aging, disabilities, prevention, health, cultural competencies, inadequate housing); OR
  • A Bachelor's degree in any field and one year of human services related experience (i.e., work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged, employment, abuse and neglect, substance abuse, aging, disabilities, prevention, health, cultural competencies, inadequate housing); OR
  • A Bachelor's degree in a Behavioral Science, Social Science, or a closely related field.
  • Experience recognizing symptoms and behaviors that originate from adapting to traumatic responses.
  • Commitment to minimizing re-traumatization or replicating prior trauma dynamics.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and engage with thoughtfulness and sensitivity.
  • Experience engaging with families using culturally relevant strategies that demonstrate compassion and respect for their values and identities.
  • Experience applying lessons-learned to varying environments and situations; welcoming constructive feedback and suggestions to strengthen work performance.
  • Demonstrated experience developing meaningful and inclusive relationships with colleagues that foster trust, collaboration and respect.
  • Experience using time management, organization and prioritization skills to meet deadlines in a fast paced, high productivity environment.
  • Experience explaining technical information such as rules or procedures verbally and in writing to individuals and groups who are unfamiliar with the subject and/or communicate differently than you.

Responsibilities

  • Providing person-centered, strength-based practice to assist families transitioning into a state of independence through collaboration and partnership within the agency and the community.
  • Engaging families in individual and family assessment, identification of goals that are attainable and provide a glide path off state assistance, identification of individual and family strengths.
  • Collaboration with other state agencies, and collaboration with community organizations and resources.
  • Determining eligibility for programs as necessary.
  • Negotiating coaching plans with the adults in the home; utilizing the continuum of Jobs activities, supporting both the adults needs as well as the family's needs.
  • Evaluating employability readiness, provide meaningful provider referrals, promote services and motivate the adult towards employment.
  • Developing and maintaining a base knowledge of employment services, contractors, and community services to meet the employment needs of the family.
  • Assisting with crisis and safety planning for individuals experiencing domestic violence.
  • Completing program eligibility and if appropriate, issuing grant payments.
  • Assisting with supporting resources and services within the community.
