Human Rights & Social Justice Fundraiser - $20/hr + Daily Bonus
About The Position
We are looking for outgoing, compassionate people to join our Los Angeles fundraising team and represent respected nonprofit organizations working to protect human rights, defend civil liberties, support vulnerable communities, and create opportunities for people facing poverty and inequality. This is not a desk job and it is not scripted telemarketing. You'll be speaking with people face-to-face and helping connect them with causes they may already care deeply about. You'll work alongside a team of passionate fundraisers in busy Los Angeles communities, starting conversations with members of the public about important social issues. Your job is to turn awareness into action.
Requirements
- You're 18 years of age or older
- You're legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- You're comfortable approaching and speaking with members of the public
- You're comfortable working outdoors and being active throughout your shift
- You can commit to at least 3 full shifts per week (7hr shifts)
- You're reliable and able to get yourself to work consistently
- You're open to feedback, coaching, and learning new communication skills
- You care about treating people with respect, even when they see the world differently than you do
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in fundraising, canvassing, advocacy, hospitality, retail, theatre, education, customer service, community work, or sales can be helpful - but it isn't required.
