About The Position

Public Outreach is hiring Face-to-Face Fundraisers to join their team in Northern Virginia. This role involves talking with people face-to-face about important issues and inspiring them to take action by becoming monthly donors. The teams currently fundraise on behalf of organizations supporting work connected to human rights, humanitarian aid, children's well-being, and communities around the world. No prior fundraising experience is needed; the company seeks individuals comfortable talking to others, passionate about making an impact, and willing to learn. Previous experience in hospitality, retail, customer service, education, advocacy, theatre, sales, or community work is a plus, as is the ability to connect with people.

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
• Legally authorized to work in the US
• Comfortable approaching and starting conversations with new people
• Passionate about social impact, human rights, humanitarian issues, or community work
• Resilient - able to hear "no" and confidently move on to the next conversation
• Reliable and able to work as part of a team
• Comfortable working outdoors and being active throughout your shift
• Able to reliably travel to team meeting points and fundraising locations throughout Northern Virginia and the greater DC area

Nice To Haves

• Previous fundraising experience
• Experience in hospitality, retail, customer service, education, advocacy, theatre, sales, community work

Responsibilities

• Talk with members of the public face-to-face
• Represent respected nonprofit and humanitarian organizations
• Educate people about important social and humanitarian issues
• Inspire people to support nonprofit campaigns through monthly donations
