The Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) is recruiting for a Personnel Technician 2 located in Carson City, NV. This position is located within the Human Resources department. DCFS provides an atmosphere of innovative thinking, teamwork, and friendly co-workers, and is a great place to work. Incumbent will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of the DCFS-HR office – processing new and existing employee paperwork; new hire orientation; maintaining hard and soft copy files; employee benefits – insurance and retirement (PEBP & PERS) paperwork; investigating errors and processing corrections; entering data into state and division computer programs; providing assistance as needed to employees and supervisors. Liaison with the Division of Human Resource Management on technical level work. Will coordinate recruitment in NeoGov and will assist employees and supervisors as needed. The Nevada Division of Child and Family Services, together in partnership with families, communities and other government agencies, provides support and services to assist Nevada’s children and families in reaching their full human potential. DCFS programs include child protective and welfare services delivery in rural Nevada and oversight of urban county-operated child protective and welfare services, children’s mental/behavioral health treatment and residential services (outpatient and inpatient acute) in urban Nevada, and statewide juvenile justice services including state operated youth training centers and youth parole. DCFS is an extremely complex organization with incredibly dedicated and professional staff committed to building strong communities through strengthening families. This is a full-time position with an anticipated work schedule of 8am – 5p, Monday – Friday Applicants must be authorized to work in ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa currently. Human Resources Technicians perform a wide variety of Human Resource activities including Human Resource records processing, recruitment and examining, new hire orientation, list certification, and payroll support duties. While payroll support duties may be performed a portion of the time by Human Resources Technicians, the majority of duties involve Human Resource activities. Positions dedicated to payroll duties are appropriately classified in accounting-related series. Some positions in this series specialize in one or more Human Resource functions and others may serve in a generalist capacity. Supervisory responsibility may be assigned at any level in the series, but this responsibility does not, by itself, warrant allocation to a higher level.
