About The Position

Canadian Hearing Services (CHS) has an opening for a Human Resources Summer Student (Canada Summer Jobs). This is a virtual 8-week summer position where the student will work collaboratively with department staff to support a range of administrative duties, office operations, and HR-related projects. Applicants must be in or support the Toronto location.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
  • Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to details
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work within a highly confidential environment
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Must be legally eligible for employment in Canada

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with Culturally Deaf, oral deaf, deafened or hard of hearing individuals
  • American Sign Language (ASL) skills

Responsibilities

  • Draft, edit, and format documents and emails
  • Assist with scheduling meetings and booking access
  • Maintain filing systems (organizing, archiving)
  • Conduct basic research and compile information
  • Perform data entry
  • Provide support on HR projects (e.g., policy updates, draft spreadsheets, summaries) and day-to-day tasks delegated by HR team members
