About The Position

The HR Specialist plays a critical role in supporting and executing human resources initiatives within a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on one or more key functional areas while providing expert-level support to managers, supervisors, and employees. The HR Specialist ensures that HR programs are effectively delivered to support production goals and foster a safe, productive, and compliant workforce.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of HR generalist or specialist experience, across multiple functional areas.
  • Working knowledge of labor regulations (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC) and HR best practices.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems (e.g., Workday,) and MS Office applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust across all levels.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or a related field, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with hiring managers to support recruitment and selection processes for hourly and salaried roles, including job posting, screening, scheduling interviews, and onboarding.
  • Coordinate new‑hire onboarding, including paperwork, I‑9 verification, benefits enrollment, system access, and orientation logistics.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee concerns, conduct initial investigations into employee complaints or policy violations, and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Provide guidance to employees and supervisors on HR policies and practices, ensuring consistent application and legal compliance.
  • Support employees with questions about health, retirement, leave, and wellness programs; coordinate open enrollment activities and assist in troubleshooting benefits.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labor laws, OSHA requirements, and internal policies; support HR audits and compliance activities.
  • Generate HR metrics and reports to support workforce planning, headcount tracking, turnover analysis, and diversity reporting.
  • Assist in coordinating employee training sessions and tracking training completion.
