About The Position

The Human Resources Specialist performs specialized human resources and administrative support functions for Auburn University Facilities Management, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with state and federal regulations. Responsibilities include preparing confidential documentation, assisting with HR program coordination (training, development, and employee engagement), and responding to routine inquiries across various HR specialties including compensation, benefits, employment, and employee relations. Temporary Employment Services (TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being: Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads Assistance with special projects Seasonal work Emergencies If you are looking for an employment opportunity, TES is a great way to showcase your professional skills and assist Auburn University while gaining valuable work experience within higher education. Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree - no specific discipline.
  • Basic knowledge of administrative support functions, office procedures, customer service practices, and standard computer applications.

Responsibilities

  • Compiles information, run queries, and prepares reports, letters, memos, and job-related documentation of a confidential nature.
  • Assists with maintaining compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations including, but not limited to, ADA, FLSA, EEOC, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, FMLA, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, USERRA, and Equal Pay Act.
  • Assists with the coordination of human resources functions within the division such as training, development and employee engagement.
  • Assists with the initiation and or response to routine inquiries concerning human resources programs within a variety of HR specialties including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, employment, employee relations, payroll, training and/or development.
