About The Position

We are a fast-growing exclusive distributor of Arthrex medical devices in Northern California. Partnering with one of the world’s leading innovators in minimally invasive surgery, we deliver best in class solutions to surgeons and healthcare systems across the region. We are looking for an experienced HR Specialist / HR Manager to serve as a key partner in building and scaling our people operations. This role is perfect for a hands on HR professional who enjoys both strategic thinking and day-to-day execution in a growing medical device distribution company. You will help attract, develop, and retain top talent while ensuring compliance in a fast paced environment.

Requirements

  • 3–7+ years of progressive HR experience
  • Strong knowledge of California employment law and compliance
  • Hands on experience with recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, and employee relations
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, performance driven culture with both strategic and tactical responsibilities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in medical device, healthcare, distribution, or sales-driven industries is highly preferred
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for sales, field clinical, warehouse, and administrative roles.
  • Build strong pipelines of high-caliber candidates in the medical device and healthcare space.
  • Lead effective onboarding processes that accelerate new hire productivity.
  • Create and update job descriptions that accurately reflect role expectations and attract top talent.
  • Support our performance-based compensation programs (base + bonus for management/sales and commission structures for field teams).
  • Administer benefits including healthcare, 401(k), and payroll continuity.
  • Assist with payroll processing and troubleshooting when necessary to ensure timely and accurate payments.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and camaraderie.
  • Handle performance management, conflict resolution, and engagement initiatives.
  • Plan and coordinate company events, team-building activities, and recognition programs to strengthen team morale and camaraderie.
  • Ensure full compliance with California employment laws, OSHA, and other regulations.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, policies, and reporting.
  • Implement review processes and support training programs focused on medical device knowledge, sales excellence, and leadership growth.
  • Build scalable HR systems, processes, and documentation as the team continues to grow.
  • Partner with leadership on workforce planning and organizational development
