We're looking for an experienced, energetic HR Recruiter Specialist to help drive our people strategy through what we call the Six Rs : recruitment, retention, rejuvenation-plus research, react, and respect. Based onsite in our Amityville office, this role is more than filling positions-it's about building pipelines, strengthening community partnerships, and elevating HFY's reputation as an employer of choice in the nonprofit human services space. You'll play a critical role in attracting, engaging, and retaining talent that fuels our mission. Requirements
- HR or recruiting experience
- Solid understanding of employment laws, especially in hiring and recruiting
- Thrive in fast-paced environments and move with urgency, flexibility, and a "figure it out" mindset
- Natural relationship-builder with managers, candidates, and community partners
- Organized, process-driven, and known for strong follow-through
- Tech-savvy-you use systems and data to track, report, and improve results
- Bring personality, creativity, and positive energy to everything you do
- Trusted with confidential information and committed to best practices
- Strong communicator-clear, confident, and comfortable on the phone and in groups
- Team-first mindset-you show up, pitch in, and make the team stronger
- 1-2 years HR recruiting experience required
- Reliable daily access to a personal vehicle for recruitment activities and travel
- Dependable and professional onsite presence; consistently meets schedule and job expectations
- Willing and able to represent HFY at job fairs, community events, and other recruitment initiatives
Nice To Haves
- BA degree in Human Resources a plus
- Experience in a nonprofit or social services environment strongly preferred
