About The Position

Infinitum Electric is seeking a Human Resources Operations Specialist to manage the daily operations of the people department. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth functioning of payroll, HRIS, employee documentation, and onboarding processes. The specialist will act as a key liaison between the HR, finance, and IT departments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all people-related operations. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Austin, TX.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in HR Operations, People Operations, or Payroll, preferably in a high-growth or manufacturing/hardware environment.
  • Hands-on experience running multi-state payroll on a modern platform (e.g., Paylocity, ADP, Gusto, UKG, Workday).
  • Working knowledge of US labor and pay regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, ACA, and multi-state tax laws.
  • Proficiency in basic benefits administration.
  • Strong HRIS skills, including report building, data auditing, and managing integrations.
  • Excellent fluency in Excel/Google Sheets for data analysis (vlookups, pivots, data cleanup).
  • High attention to detail and discretion when handling confidential information.
  • A service-oriented mindset towards employees.

Nice To Haves

  • FPC, CPP, aPHR, PHR, or SHRM-CP certification.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end multi-state payroll processing, including timecards, deductions, taxes, garnishments, and off-cycle runs.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team on General Ledger postings and reconciliations related to payroll.
  • Oversee the HRIS as the primary system of record, ensuring data integrity, managing organizational changes, and handling integrations with payroll, benefits, and IT systems.
  • Maintain and configure the pay core system, including pay groups, pay codes, earnings/deduction setup, GL mappings, and state/local tax configurations.
  • Manage all employee documentation, such as offer letters, I-9/E-Verify forms, policy acknowledgments, leave paperwork, and separation packets, ensuring proper file hygiene and retention.
  • Execute the complete onboarding process, from pre-boarding tasks and Day 1 setup with IT and Facilities to new-hire orientation and 30-day check-ins.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, time off, and HR policies, escalating complex issues as needed.
