This role supervises HR Coordinators, encourages cross-training, and provides oversight for payroll processing, benefits administration, and HRIS accuracy. The position also ensures wage and hour compliance, manages various employee deductions, and coordinates open enrollment for benefits. The Human Resources Manager develops and revises HR policies, conducts training on HR topics and labor laws, and consults on employee grievances and legal cases. They attend conferences and conduct research to ensure compliance with new laws, meet with department heads and employees to discuss HR needs and issues, and keep leadership informed of HR-related matters. The role also reviews recruiting materials, applicant tracking systems, and statistics related to employee data. Additionally, it oversees the Annual Focal Point Review process, conducts exit interviews, coordinates employee recognition events, approves meetings for the Tax Deferred Annuity Program, and ensures compliance with EEO and Affirmative Action Plans. The position also manages training compliance, approves tours of Army programs, oversees First Aid and CPR training, manages workers' compensation claims, and handles leaves of absence. It also oversees the production of a bi-weekly newsletter, stays familiar with job openings, administers obligations to the South Coast Air Quality Management District, and monitors public health compliance. Additional duties may be assigned based on business needs.
