About The Position

Boston Consulting Group (BCG) is seeking an HR Manager to join their team. This role is designed for someone energized by raising the bar in a high-performing environment and looking for a broad and varied HR role. As a member of the HR team, you will help develop, deploy, and retain top talent, manage the employee lifecycle, and handle day-to-day HR operations. You will have the opportunity to utilize exceptional customer service, problem-solving, and analytical skills. The position is a key leadership role within the Los Angeles office and a member of the West Coast Human Resources Team, focusing on employee relations, talent acquisition, leaves of absence, on-boarding, and departures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, with a specialty in Business or HR preferred.
  • Strong understanding of California HR legal environment.
  • Five+ years of human resources management experience in a progressive HR department.
  • Experience in a high-touch environment with professional staff.
  • Ability to perform successfully in a fast-paced, global, intellectually intense, service-oriented environment, keeping with BCG’s values and culture.
  • Strong communication skills; able to communicate confidently, articulately and with precision.
  • Ability to influence multiple stakeholders to adopt a new point of view.
  • Maturity and seasoning that engenders respect and trust from others; good judgment, professionalism, strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative style.
  • High integrity, tact, a positive attitude, and an ability to maintain absolute confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the West Coast HR team to provide day-to-day operational support for local staff.
  • Manage the employee lifecycle and day-to-day HR operations.
  • Oversee all types of Leaves of Absence (LOAs) and own the employee exit process.
  • Support team members with on-boarding, benefits, transfers, and other inquiries.
  • Develop trusting relationships with and act as a coach and mentor to BST managers.
  • Partner with BST managers on staff planning activities, performance feedback preparation, performance improvement plans, and employee exits.
  • Deliver presentations in staff forums on HR-related topics.
  • Partner with Office Leadership, Business Services Managers, and employees to address workplace and employee relations issues.
  • Interpret, implement, and answer inquiries related to HR policies and procedures.
  • Work with the internal legal team when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the team.
