About The Position

We’re opening an exciting dual-branded Hyatt hotel at the Portland Airport, bringing together the extended-stay comfort of Hyatt House and the vibrant, independent spirit of Mindaro (a JdV by Hyatt brand). This unique property will feature a dynamic guest experience, including a robust food & beverage operation—and we are building the team that will bring it all to life. We are looking for an HR Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and is excited to play a key role in launching a brand-new hotel. This is a rare opportunity to shape the culture, build the team, and set the tone from day one. This role will be highly focused on pre-opening hiring, onboarding, and training, while also supporting day-to-day HR operations.

Requirements

HR experience in a fast-paced, people-focused environment
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
A hands-on, team-oriented approach with a passion for hospitality
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Comfortable with HR systems and administrative processes

Nice To Haves

Hotel or hospitality experience strongly preferred
Bilingual (Spanish) a plus

Responsibilities

Lead full-cycle recruitment to build a high-performing hotel team ahead of opening
Coordinate and support onboarding for all new team members
Partner closely with hotel leadership to support staffing needs and team development
Maintain employee records and support payroll processes
Serve as a visible, approachable HR resource for team members and leaders
Help ensure compliance with employment, wage & hour, and safety regulations
Support and coordinate training initiatives and team engagement activities
Assist in building a positive, inclusive, and service-focused workplace culture
