About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager (Contract) to function as the primary HR partner for a multi-state workforce of over 100 employees across 16 states. This is a high-impact, standalone role requiring a hands-on professional capable of independently managing the full spectrum of HR functions. The candidate will support a diverse employee population, including salaried staff, sales teams, administrative personnel, and independent contractors, necessitating a strong working knowledge of various compensation structures and employment classifications. The ideal candidate can quickly integrate into the organization, operate with minimal supervision, and provide strategic and tactical support in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate independently as the sole HR resource.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state employment laws and worker classification.
  • Experience supporting diverse workforce populations (hourly, salaried, contractors, administrative, and sales).
  • Proven employee relations and conflict resolution expertise.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a standalone or HRBP capacity.
  • Prior experience supporting multi-state workforces is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage HR operations and compliance independently.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all HR matters across a multi-state workforce.
  • Provide daily HR guidance to employees and leadership, ensuring consistent application of company policies.
  • Manage employee relations matters end-to-end, including investigations, corrective actions, and terminations.
  • Partner with leadership to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies.
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts across multiple functional areas.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to define job requirements and drive timely hiring outcomes.
  • Advise managers on performance reviews, coaching strategies, and employee development.
  • Support compensation changes and employment status updates.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Oversee wage and hour compliance, leave administration, and worker classification.
  • Partner with legal teams as needed on audits, investigations, and policy updates.
  • Oversee onboarding processes for both employees and contractors.
  • Support and implement training initiatives aligned with organizational needs.
  • Manage HRIS platforms (ADP TotalSource and ADP RUN).
  • Maintain accurate employee records and reporting.
