As a Human Resources Labour Relations Business Partner (Bilingual), you will be managing and supporting all aspects of labour relations within a unionized environment across our Quebec sites. This role serves as a key liaison between management and union representatives, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements, labour laws, and organizational policies. This is a hybrid role, working a minimum of 3 days onsite each week, split between our Drummondville and Montreal locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labour Relations, Business Administration, or a related field, paired with a CRHA designation
  • 3–7+ years of progressive HR experience in a unionized environment, with a track record of successfully navigating complex labour relations
  • Hands-on experience managing grievances, preparing for arbitration, and supporting collective bargaining negotiations
  • Strong expertise in labour law and contract interpretation, able to provide clear guidance to leaders and teams
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills, fostering positive relationships across all levels
  • Trusted to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost professionalism
  • Sharp analytical skills and meticulous attention to documentation and detail
  • Fully bilingual in English and French, able to communicate confidently with diverse stakeholders in written and verbal form

Responsibilities

  • Administer and interpret collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), ensuring day-to-day operations comply and providing clear guidance to managers and teams
  • Partner with HR and leadership to implement contract provisions, policy changes, and workforce initiatives that align with business goals and employee relations best practices
  • Deliver targeted training to managers and supervisors on labour relations, CBA compliance, and handling union-related matters effectively
  • Lead workplace investigations into employee concerns, grievances, and union-related issues, documenting findings and recommendations
  • Act as the primary liaison for union representatives and internal stakeholders, resolving issues and facilitating open, productive communication
  • Manage grievance and arbitration processes, overseeing investigations, preparing documentation, and coordinating case management to ensure timely, fair resolution of disputes
  • Advise leadership on labour relations strategies, risk mitigation, and contract compliance to support informed decision-making
  • Support collective bargaining by conducting research, analyzing costs, and developing proposals to assist in negotiations and ensure favorable outcomes for the organization
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to labour laws, regulations, and organizational policies across all unionized sites
