About The Position

This internship provides valuable experience within the health insurance industry, allowing interns to apply skills and knowledge acquired in school. Interns will have the opportunity to learn from subject matter experts and leaders, network with fellow participants, and gain practical, hands-on work experience. The Human Resources team supports leaders and employees throughout the organization, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture. They work collaboratively to enhance the employee experience, covering recruitment, onboarding, professional development, and employee benefits.

Requirements

• Must be a current sophomore pursuing a bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, communications, journalism, marketing, or related program.
• Ability to build relationships and motivate others.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively work with various business areas.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing environments, strong customer relations and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with various Human Resource team members to complete meaningful assignments that foster interpersonal relationships and provide exposure to teams across the Wellmark organization.
• Support project and operational work where you will leverage problem solving skills, complete research deliverables, utilize communication skills (written, verbal, facilitation) and collaborate on results-oriented approaches.
• Engage in programs and networking opportunities to strengthen business acumen in the health care industry.
• Support internship program by motivating and driving participation among your intern peers to fully engage with opportunities available throughout the summer.
