About The Position

This internship focuses on evaluating and resolving HR-related issues, suggesting and implementing organizational improvements, and developing recruitment and retention strategies. The role involves developing and conducting training programs, preparing HR statistics and metrics, and ensuring compliance with regulatory reporting. Additionally, the intern will compile wage and benefit data, participate in Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations, contribute to open enrollment, and support compliance with the Service Contract Act and Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements.

  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Package (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
  • Ability to deliver meaningful presentations
  • Proficient in MS Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of HR and Workforce Management Software (i.e. UKG)
  • Federal Contracting/Service Contract Act (SCA) Experience

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and resolve HR related issues
  • Suggest and implement changes that will provide the greatest return to the organization
  • Develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies to achieve required staffing levels
  • Develop, evaluate, and conduct training programs for hiring managers
  • Prepare, present, and monitor HR statistics and metrics; implement solutions for improvement
  • Prepare and submit timely reporting data to regulatory agencies
  • Compile wages and benefits data and participate in negotiations of Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) with labor unions
  • Participate and contribute to successful annual open enrollment
  • Contribute to the overall compliance with the Service Contract Act and prevailing wage requirements from the Department of Labor
