About The Position

The Human Resources Intern will join Barilla’s US Human Resources group for its 2027 Summer Internship Program. This paid internship lasts 10–12 weeks and is based at Barilla Americas Headquarters in Northbrook, Illinois. The intern will gain exposure to several core Human Resources competencies while contributing to projects and building practical expertise and problem-solving capabilities. The position follows a hybrid work model. Employees are expected to work onsite three days per week, including Mondays and Wednesdays as Core Days, plus one additional day based on the needs of the role and team. Work arrangements may change based on business needs, operational requirements, or company policy updates.

Requirements

Completed junior year of college with a concentration in Human Resources, Management, or Business Administration.
Experience handling confidential matters.
Effective project management and time management skills.
Self-driven, with the ability to work independently.
Solid presentation and communication skills.
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and maintain attention to detail.
Strong ability to work in teams and build good relationships.
High degree of personal integrity and work ethic.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Nice To Haves

Prior Human Resources experience is a plus.
Advanced Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables, are a plus.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the Appreciative Feedback Program by developing communications and gathering insights to improve the initiative.
Maintain accurate employee records and support compliance through regular I-9 audits and documentation reviews.
Identify and coordinate a learning and development course for interns to participate in during the summer.
Update employer branding pages with refreshed content informed by best-practices research.
Help plan and evaluate initiatives that support employee well-being.
