About The Position

This is a full-time, 11-week internship from early June to mid-August 2027. Summer interns typically work from 8:00 am-5:00 pm, Monday through Friday — approximately 40 hours per week. While contributing to department initiatives, interns will also engage in educational experiences that help prepare them for workplace life. The HR intern will get the opportunity for on-the-job experience learning all aspects of the Human Resource function within our organization. They will get exposure to recruiting and onboarding, compliance and risk management, performance management and engagement, data analytics and management, benefits and HRIS management.

Requirements

  • Sophomore, Junior, or Senior undergraduate students majoring, minoring, or concentrating in Business Administration, Human Resources, Communications, Psychology, Sociology, or related fields.
  • Strong interest in learning and self-development.
  • Be a self-starter.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Proficiency in commonly used business applications in a Microsoft Windows environment including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat, and Chrome.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential data.

Responsibilities

  • Gain firsthand exposure to the Human Resources function by observing HR meetings, employee interactions, interviews, project discussions, and day-to-day department operations.
  • Provide daily support to the HR team through administrative tasks, project coordination, and hands-on assignments in the following areas:
  • Learn the basic concepts of benefit administration, understand the company’s benefit structure, and assist with related data review or analysis as needed.
  • Support recruiting and onboarding activities, including resume screening, interview scheduling, job posting support, candidate communication, new hire preparation, and coordination of onboarding materials or activities. Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of intern program events.
  • Gain knowledge of employment eligibility, confidentiality, labor law compliance and reporting, personnel file maintenance, new hire and termination paperwork, payroll-related processes, and support compliance updates or related documentation as needed.
  • Learn about programs that support employee development, performance, engagement, coaching, and workplace culture. Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of Gallup program and coaching support, and companywide engagement initiatives.
  • Learn how to navigate HR systems and pull reports to support HR projects, recruiting, onboarding, compliance updates, and workforce analysis.
  • Support HR communication and documentation needs by drafting memos, organizing job descriptions, uploading job description materials, maintaining department resources, and helping ensure documents are accurate, accessible, and up to date.
