About The Position

Support the HR function in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new employees. Must be a self-starter, have great communication skills, strong interpersonal skills for interacting with candidates and managers, good organizational skills, and can assess candidate skills and experience. Responsible for tracking and reporting hiring trends and turnover rates including reasons for terminations through exit interviews, rehire turnover rates, retention trends, and retention bonus plan performance. This position will be accountable for one or more areas such as: sourcing and interviewing new hires; coordinating salaried interviews with team and with recruiters, weekly updates, critical hiring meetings with leadership team, administering HR policies through onboarding assisting with tracking training progress, and ensuring performance evaluations for new employees are completed. Excellent business and computer skills. Must be able to utilize HRIS systems for hiring and trending results. Must be able to use MS Office, WORD, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint and Applicant Tracking System. Must be able to communicate effectively with every department and level of employee. Must be able to read, understand, interpret, and enforce company policies and union collective bargaining agreements. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and communicate effectively with employees at all levels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resources or related business field or comparable experience.
  • 2 Years’ minimum Human Resource experience with Recruiting, Hiring, Onboarding, and Employee Relations.
  • Excellent business and computer skills.
  • Must be able to utilize HRIS systems for hiring and trending results.
  • Must be able to use MS Office, WORD, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint and Applicant Tracking System.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with every department and level of employee.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures first review of resume and candidates, including interviewing and evaluating candidate competencies, to ensure the best fit prior to sending them to the Manager for second review.
  • Manages hiring and onboarding process for all new employees.
  • Work with managers and supervisors through weekly hiring meetings and daily communication to ensure staffing needs are met and selection criteria are followed.
  • Responsible for ensuring job descriptions match open positions and are posted timely.
  • Responsible for managing and ensuring compliance with the Union job bidding process for open positions.
  • Administers recruiting, testing, and interviewing programs; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes that are consistent with the organization business objective, Company vision, and within Federal & State guidelines.
  • Conducts and/or coordinates new employee orientation.
  • Supports HR and business by providing meaningful reporting and analysis of staffing levels required to meet customer demand.
  • Utilizes the HRIS system for applicant tracking and onboarding to eliminate administrative tasks, empower employees, and meet the other needs of the organization.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
