In this role, you will support key HR functions across recruiting, employee relations, compliance, onboarding, training, safety coordination, leave administration, and HR systems. You will work closely with leaders and employees across the organization while helping create a positive, compliant, and engaging workplace. Job Summary: The Human Resources Generalist is a key member of the Human Resources team and plays a highly visible role in supporting the organization’s people strategy, compliance obligations, and employee experience. This position is responsible for delivering professional-level HR support across multiple functional areas, including talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, leave administration, HRIS support, training coordination, compliance, safety-related administration, and payroll/benefits backup support. Serving as a trusted partner to employees, supervisors, and managers, the HR Generalist helps ensure the consistent application of policies, employment practices, and company values while balancing employee advocacy with business needs. This role requires sound judgment, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a lean, fast-paced manufacturing environment where agility, confidentiality, follow-through, and attention to detail are essential. The HR Generalist also contributes to process improvement, employee engagement, and the overall effectiveness of the Human Resources function by helping build programs, maintain compliant practices, and support a positive, accountable, and high-performing workplace culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Current SHRM-CP or PHR certification
  • 3 to 5 years of progressive HR experience
  • Experience in talent acquisition, HRIS, and employee relations.
  • Experience supporting HR in a manufacturing environment
  • Solid understanding of employment law and HR best practices
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Confidence working in a lean HR environment with changing priorities
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity
  • Strong initiative and ownership over work
  • Employee-centered mindset balanced with sound business judgment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word

Responsibilities

  • Manage recruiting activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and offer preparation
  • Lead onboarding activities to create a smooth, compliant, and welcoming experience for new hires
  • Support workforce planning efforts in partnership with HR leadership
  • Respond to employee questions and workplace concerns with professionalism and sound judgment
  • Partner with leadership on employee relations matters, performance issues, and disciplinary processes
  • Help support employee engagement, recognition, and culture-building initiatives
  • Prepare and distribute employee communications
  • Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, posters, and handbook content
  • Support employee recordkeeping and HRIS administration in partnership with Payroll
  • Assist with audits, reporting, leave administration, and compliance-related documentation
  • Help ensure HR practices align with company policy and applicable employment laws
  • Coordinate and track employee training and job-specific learning requirements
  • Help manage monthly safety audits and quarterly evacuation drills
  • Support workers’ compensation administration and OSHA-related postings
  • Provide backup support to payroll and assist with benefits administration as needed
