As a Human Resources Generalist, you will play a critical role in supporting the talented workforce that makes this mission possible. As an integral member of a deployed Human Resources team, you will partner with leaders and employees across scientific, technical, operational, and business organizations in a world-class research environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible Human Resources Generalist experience, including customer-focused HR service delivery.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and ability to align HR solutions with organizational objectives.
  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to establish credibility, build trust, and influence decision-making across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience providing consultation and guidance to managers and employees on employee relations, performance management, and workplace issues.
  • Knowledge of federal employment law and an understanding of state and local employment regulations.
  • Strong critical evaluation, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex situations and develop practical solutions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical practice, sound judgment, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, coaching, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms such as Workday.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP).
  • Experience supporting full-cycle recruitment activities.
  • Experience providing HR support within scientific, technical, research, engineering, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Experience supporting a federal contractor or government-funded organization.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on a broad range of human resources matters, building strong relationships and fostering positive employee experiences.
  • Partner with leadership to understand business objectives and develop workforce solutions that support organizational effectiveness and mission success.
  • Administer, interpret, and communicate complex HR policies, procedures, and programs while ensuring consistent application across assigned organizations.
  • Support the implementation of HR strategies, initiatives, and programs aligned with Laboratory goals and workforce needs.
  • Provide consultation, coaching, and guidance on employee relations, performance management, workplace concerns, employee development, and organizational change.
  • Conduct workplace investigations, critically evaluate facts and findings, and prepare comprehensive reports and recommendations.
  • Analyze workforce trends and organizational challenges, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend practical, data-informed solutions.
  • Balance organizational objectives with compliance requirements by ensuring adherence to applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and Department of Energy contract requirements.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers to support recruitment efforts, including workforce planning, position description development, sourcing strategies, and participation in outreach and career events.
  • Facilitate HR processes and transactions while maintaining the highest standards of ethical practice, confidentiality, accuracy, and customer service.
  • Communicate effectively with employees and leaders at all levels, translating HR concepts and policies into practical guidance and actionable solutions.
