About The Position

AAA Oregon/Idaho is looking for a detail-oriented, process-driven, joyful Human Resources Generalist to help support our Automotive Services team from our administrative headquarters in downtown Portland. The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for being the first point of contact for Human Resources programs, advising, data management, and compliance throughout the full employee life cycle, including compliance, recordkeeping, employee relations, reporting, recruitment, and separation. This role will typically have primary support for specific, designated Business Lines--in this case, the Automotive Services team! This includes our Roadside Fleet and Call Centers.

Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years Human Resources experience in a related industry.
  • Strong understanding of Human Resources and business practices.
  • Experience with recruiting, interviewing, and hiring.
  • Current knowledge of state (Oregon/Idaho) and federal employment law and best practices.
  • Experience managing workers’ compensation claims in a similar industry/environment.
  • Ability to work with a diverse employee population.
  • Must be highly detailed and organized with the ability to manage a large volume of data and deadlines across internal and external customers over twenty plus regional locations.
  • Sense of urgency, follow through, and high level of responsiveness required.
  • Position requires strong oral/written communication skills and relationship management skills.
  • Must possess strong customer service skills and have ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must have ability to analyze problems, think creatively, and make independent decisions or take independent actions based on sound judgement.
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and data security required at all times.
  • Proficiency with Excel, scheduling programs, PowerPoint, and other computer systems necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • HR Certification preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills preferred but not required.
  • Experience ADP HRIS systems (ADP Workforce Now) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Being the first point of contact for Human Resources programs, advising, data management, and compliance throughout the full employee life cycle.
