About The Position

This position’s primary responsibility is to provide administrative support to the Human Resources team and guidance in the functional areas of Human Resources, including, but not limited to: employment, ADA, retention, employee relations, organization development, and training. Supports leaders and provides a consultative approach to all types of Human Resources and employment matters. Advises and assists leadership and staff with interpretation and application of personnel policies, procedures and legal compliance. Protects the interests of employees and the institution in accordance with institutional Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulations. Provides guidance and coaching to managers of all levels and staff in addressing performance issues and preparing clear and effective documentation, performance improvement and progressive discipline. Supports the involuntary termination procedures between Human Resources, Payroll and management by coordinating off-boarding. Maintains the tracking system for coaching conversations, progressive discipline, performance improvement plans, and involuntary terminations. Administers the Foreign National program. Maintains work authorization compliance and facilitates the needs of Foreign Nationals, National Jewish departments and outside agencies such as the International Student and Scholar Services at the University of Colorado at Denver and Immigration Attorneys. Responds to unemployment claims in a timely manner. Assists and coordinates with in-house employee training systems that address institutional training needs, including training needs assessment, new employee orientation or onboarding, management development, production cross-training, the measurement of training impact, and the transfer of learning. Provides administrative support and coordination to the ADAAA Interactive process with staff. Assists with compliance to federal, state and local employment regulations/guidelines by attending Employment Law seminars and training throughout the year. Interprets all pay policies and monitors compliance with wage and hour laws, FLSA standards, and EEO regulations. Maintains a current knowledge of legal issues which impact HR administration. Stays current with respect to both internal and external factors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree required.
  • A minimum of 3 years related Human Resources experience.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP and/or SHRM-SCP preferred
