About The Position

The Human Resource (HR) Generalist is responsible for the daily functions of the HR department. This includes hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay and benefits, managing employee leave of absences, and enforcing company policies and practices. Key duties involve maintaining employee personnel files, handling daily email correspondence and phone calls, assisting with recruiting and interviewing qualified job applicants, and collaborating with departmental managers to identify required skills. The role also involves implementing the new hire onboarding process, responding to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, and performing routine tasks for human resource programs such as compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes, investigations, and performance and talent management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources (or related field) or 2 years in Human Resources field with a high school diploma.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (especially excel) and other related software
  • Ability to adapt to new technology and HRIS systems (ex: ADP)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain employee personnel files.
  • Handles the day to day email correspondence and phone calls.
  • Assists with recruiting, interviewing and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental manager to understand skills and competencies required for open positions.
  • Implements new hire onboarding process from start to finish.
  • Respond to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matter to the appropriate staff.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management.
