About The Position

The Human Resources Coordinator (Canada Summer Jobs) position offers a great opportunity for the candidate to gain hands-on experience in core Human Resources functions within a dynamic, multi-site organization within the nonprofit sector. As an Human Resources Coordinator, you will work closely with the People & Culture team to support initiatives that enhance employee experience and organizational effectiveness.

Requirements

• Must meet Canada Summer Jobs eligibility (see below).
• Post-secondary education in Human Resources or related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially over the phone and email.
• Comfortable initiating contact with new people and representing an organization professionally and a willingness to learn
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) familiarity with HRIS systems is an asset.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Good organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with HRIS systems is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with posting job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
• Help coordinate internship and seasonal hiring programs.
• Prepare onboarding materials and assist with new hire orientation sessions.
• Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with HR policies.
• Maintain employee records in HRIS systems.
• Support payroll and benefits administration tasks as needed.
• Assist in planning and executing employee engagement activities and events.
• Gather feedback and contribute ideas to improve workplace culture.
• Participate in HR projects such as policy updates, organizational effectiveness, and process improvements.
