About The Position

The Human Resources Business Partner will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department. HR functions include, strategic initiatives, payroll, full cycle recruitment, employee performance evaluation cycle, staff development and discipline, training and professional development, benefits, FMLA, Disability and employee relations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 3 or more years of human resources experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR-HRCI certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Possess strong human resources technical skills to include an understanding and application of policies and procedures, and all associated human resources functions.
  • Partner with senior leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Propose, oversee, and manage the HR budget in collaboration with the CFO.
  • Provide support and guidance to leadership and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations, or wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Manage the talent acquisition process, which include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborate with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Participate in developing the human resource program goals, objectives, and systems for the organization.
  • Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; research and propose competitive base, incentive pay programs, and benefits to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Execute payroll administration and time and attendance oversight ensuring that proper controls and procedures are followed and maintain HRIS.
  • Perform benefits administration by collaborating with brokers and vendors to successfully add/delete staff timely, resolve claims resolution, reconcile invoices for payment, communicate benefits information to employees, and lead annual open enrollment.
  • Lead employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Manage employee leaves including coordination of FMLA, workers’ compensation, short-term disability, and ADA.
  • Review and complete unemployment documents. Attend unemployment hearings, as necessary.
  • Identify learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Maintain a learning management system to ensure staff completes required compliance training.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal employment requirements; advise management on needed actions. Maintains and updates employee handbook and policies and procedures manual to ensure compliance.
  • Provide support and guidance to management and supervisors on performance management issues including annual performance evaluations, constructive feedback, and termination.
  • Participate in performance management meetings, as necessary.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and innovative technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Serve as MANNA’s Compliance Officer.
  • Lead MANNA’s DEAI Committee.
  • Lead MANNA’s Managers Meetings.
  • Participate in other committees/meetings as deemed necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
