About The Position

Nexus Children's Hospital – Dallas is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Human Resources Assistant (PRN) to support our Human Resources Department. This position plays a critical role in ensuring efficient HR operations by assisting with employee onboarding, personnel records management, compliance tracking, employee support, and administrative functions. The Human Resources Assistant will work closely with the Human Resources Manager and hospital leadership to support employees while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • One (1) year of administrative, human resources, payroll, office support, or healthcare administrative experience preferred.
  • Healthcare experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience handling confidential information strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Manager.
  • Maintain employee personnel files and HR records in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure confidentiality of employee information and sensitive records.
  • Assist with data entry, reporting, and HR documentation.
  • Prepare employment-related correspondence, forms, and personnel action documents.
  • Support HR audits and compliance initiatives.
  • Assist with maintaining employee files, credentialing documentation, and regulatory records.
  • Prepare onboarding materials and facilitate new hire paperwork.
  • Ensure all required employment documentation is completed and maintained.
  • Assist with orientation preparation and onboarding activities.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, procedures, and general HR matters.
  • Support employee recognition and engagement initiatives.
  • Help coordinate employee events, celebrations, and wellness activities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company employment regulations.
  • Maintain required licenses, certifications, and employee documentation.
  • Assist with tracking annual competencies, education requirements, and mandatory training completion.
  • Support policy administration and documentation processes as directed by the Human Resources Manager.
  • Maintain accurate records to support regulatory surveys and audits.
  • Maintain HR office supplies and department organization.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings and preparing reports.
  • Support special projects and departmental initiatives.
  • Assist with filing, scanning, document retention, and record management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
