We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act as a Human Resource Assistant. This person will have a genuine interest in geriatric care and be able to motivate while maintaining relationship with staff and residents. The right candidate will always strive to do the best job possible, to be creative and to work towards accomplishing facility goals. Under the supervision of the Human Resource Director, the Human Resources Assistant is primarily responsible for the administration of the day-to-day operations in the area of recruiting and onboarding. The HR Assistant is responsible for the day to day functions of the following functional areas: recruiting, onboarding, general employment functions, payroll. Will also participate in other HR functions as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school education with college degree preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write and follow written and verbal directions.
  • Position requires knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in supporting the HR staff in the daily functions of the department to include: answering routine payroll/benefits questions, inputting all new staff in the time clock, and responding to requests for employment verifications.
  • Assists with ensuring timely new hire processing and report preparation. Will also be involved in ensuring that the facility is compliant with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Assists new associates in familiarizing themselves with the organization and its culture. Participates in the new hire orientation. Will work in conjunction with HR team as needed.
  • Handles departmental filing, preparation of new employee packets, typing of various correspondence, assists with the maintenance of the internal HRIS.
  • Conducts recruitment for all exempt, non-exempt and temporary staff; writes and places advertisements; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checks. Attends job fairs.
  • Recruits personnel and ensures compliance with federal, state and local laws plus applicable Community policies and procedures throughout the entire onboarding process.
  • Prepares and places all advertisements and in-house job postings and handles all correspondence with applicants.
  • Receives, reviews and processes all employment applications and handles correspondence with applicants.
  • Maintains all applications on file and personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
  • Completes all paperwork and maintains on-going personnel folders for all employees.
  • Onboarding and general data entry into HRIS system. Will also handle basic payroll functions.
  • Conducts and acquires background checks, drug screens and all other compliance related to the onboarding process.
