About The Position

Founded in 1970, East Valley Community Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) whose services include providing personalized, affordable, high-quality medical, dental, vision, and behavioral health care through a community-based network within the East San Gabriel Valley and Pomona Communities. Our staff practices patient-centered care by serving each patient with a personalized care plan that meets their individual needs. Our patients have access to support services that include nutrition, health education, case management, pharmacy, lab, and x-ray at our health center locations. East Valley serves the healthcare needs of uninsured and underserved individuals and families throughout our 8 health center locations. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One to two years of experience in customer service.
  • Knowledge of human resources or management procedures
  • Excellent customer service skills including good phone manners continually.
  • Must have advanced computer skills to include, keyboarding and familiarity in operating Windows software, and accurate data entry.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-solving/analysis with a thorough understanding of common human resources practices and knowledge.
  • Project management ability from conception to execution and delivery on timeline.
  • Conducts business professionally and ethically.
  • Manages time and resources effectively to deliver consistent results.
  • Exceptional patient relations and interpersonal skills are required.

  • A certificate in HR management preferred

Responsibilities

  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all EVCHC personnel; assists in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Operates, maintains, and advances the use of the HRIS system, employee personnel files, reports, and database.
  • Assists in recruitment efforts for personnel, students, interns, and temporary employees; writes and places advertisements.
  • Screens candidates and conducts phone screens.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, and seminars.
  • Maintains EVCHC organization charts and the employee directory.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Works closely with other departments to ensure human resources policies and procedures are adhered to regularly.
  • Operates a computer and other electronic office devices such as copy machines, fax machines, and telephones.
  • Regularly reports to work as scheduled in a timely and consistent manner, including occasional evening and or weekend shifts.
  • Maintain personnel files by labor, licensing, and contract requirements.
  • Assists in the facilitation of new hire orientations.
  • Ensuring new hire paperwork is in place and employees have proper documentation for I-9 compliance.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating the Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Assist with compiling information needed for reports, audits, etc.
  • Composes and drafts routine correspondence, reports, and forms, including proofreading and editing as required.
  • Maintains filing system.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.
