About The Position

The Human Resources team in the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office is in search of our next teammate and partner in doing Justice on all things internal people operations! As a separately elected department, the PAO has an internal HR team that is housed within our Purpose, Strategy & Performance team (administration) and partners closely with executive branch departments. This role supports the day-to-day work of the HR team while also contributing to key initiatives that support recruitment, workforce development, and employee engagement across the office. We are looking for a candidate who is a detail-oriented self-starter, ready to tackle new challenges and make a meaningful impact. Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Experience supporting HR processes such as recruitments, employee lifecycle actions, HR documentation, or HR operational tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to advance team goals.
  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple processes, projects and expectations.
  • Proven customer-centric focus and the ability to build relationships quickly.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through various modalities, including small-group presentations/discussions.
  • Strong ability to adapt and persevere while working in a multi-faceted and sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex workflows and a high-volume workload OR any combination of education and experience that clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties of the position.
  • Tech savvy and comfortable learning and using software applications in daily work. The county uses NEOGOV, Laserfiche, Microsoft suite, and other software programs.
  • Demonstrated reliable and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to accept feedback and coaching.
  • Provide support for the Race, Equity and Social Justice policy and principles, work with PAO colleagues and management to identify opportunities for improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in public sector, government, or other municipal agency
  • Experience performing HR service delivery in a unionized environment.
  • Strong working knowledge and proficiency with PeopleSoft.
  • Strong working knowledge and proficiency of the NEOGOV applicant tracking system.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage and conduct recruitment and selection processes, consulting with HR leadership and hiring managers as needed.
  • Complete pre-onboarding tasks: Write offer and promotion letters per standard templates, coordinate new hire background checks, bilingual proficiency testing, compile new hire packets for personnel files, etc.
  • Conduct new employee onboarding, which includes fingerprinting as needed.
  • Maintain recruitment records and documentation within NEOGOV, the HR position request and new hire dashboard, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with labor contracts, employment laws, and best practices throughout.
  • Provide administrative support for HR-led or HR-procured training and professional development opportunities for employees.
  • Build/develop training resources and/or registration using NEOGOV and other creative platforms like Canva and Articulate
  • Assist with coordinating officewide learning initiatives and programs for the HR team.
  • Research and respond to inquiries from PAO employees, including managing the PAO Human Resources inbox and other modes of communication.
  • Compile and publish the PAO Employee News utilizing GovDelivery.
  • Create and update forms and standard operating procedures as needed.
  • Provide general office support as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
