About The Position

The Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections – Corrections Services is seeking qualified candidates to fill Human Resources Analyst positions (levels A, B, and C) at the Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola, LA. This role supports critical HR functions including employee relations, leave administration, payroll/timekeeping, recruitment, and compliance with Civil Service rules and departmental policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information in a fast-paced environment. Experience in human resources, payroll, or personnel management is preferred. This is an opportunity to become part of a dedicated team supporting public safety, working in a correctional facility where professionalism, resilience, and teamwork are essential.

Requirements

  • Three years of human resources experience; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR A bachelor’s degree.
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

  • Building and Supporting Teams: The ability to combine one's actions and efforts with others to work toward achieving a common goal.
  • Communicating Effectively: The ability to convey information, ideas, and emotions using structured communication methods that promote understanding and engagement.

  • Experience in human resources, payroll, or personnel management is preferred.
